Secret is the latest 'anonymous' posting app to grab the attention of the iPhone-owning masses. While posts don't reveal the author's name, they do let others know if the creator is a friend, or friend of a friend. With that information (and a little triangulation) you can get a pretty good idea of who posted what. Fortunately, a recent update helps make your previous posts untraceable.
Along with the ability to subscribe and unsubscribe to secrets, the app's latest update also lets you unlink your posts from your account. This unlinking feature is all or nothing. Once posts are unlinked, you won't be alerted when they are liked or commented upon. You also won't be embarrassed when the service gets hacked - because all social networks eventually get hacked.
To ditch your posts, launch the Secret app and tap on the three horizontal lines in the upper left-hand corner. On the next screen, tap on the gear in the top right-hand corner and you'll see an Unlink my posts option. Tap on it and your posts will be unlinked from you account. Now when a hacker posts everyone's Secrets to Pastebin, you won't be embarrassed by the one about your boss's soulful green eyes.
