Full disclosure: I love the Bachelor and Bachelorette. Season after season, I love watching the train wreck that is television dating unfold before my eyes. I was already looking forward to the premiere of season 10 when I saw the news: Will Barry, formerly the keyboardist/singer of Go Go Gadget, will appear on the next season of the Bachelorette, according to the International Business Times.
One of my favorite television shows plus a local connection ... Can it be May 19 yet?
Barry will be one of a pool of contestants (usually 25) to compete for the heart of assistant district attorney Andi Dorfman. She will eliminate contenders until there is only one remaining on the season finale, where he usually gets down on one knee in a beautiful tropical location.
Formerly a member of one of the most popular State College bar bands, Barry was no newcomer to the State College scene - he graduated from Penn State with a degree in business management. Even if you're not 21, you probably remember the 26-year-old Penn State alumnus from his years of performing during the final hour of THON. Barry recently left the group to join the Philadelphia band Split Decision.
Very little information is known at this time, as ABC forces contestants to sign confidentially agreements. Barry did not explicitly say he would be appear on the Bachelorette, but he recently hinted about a big announcement (and followed Dorfman on Twitter).

Filming has recently begun on the season featuring Dorfman, who stole every girl in America's heart when she called out Bachelor Juan Pablo for his inappropriate comments and general arrogance being an asshole.
So get ready to pour a glass of wine each Monday with your closest friends and cheer on Barry as he competes for Dorfman's heart. Whether it be in sports, academics, or on a reality TV show, we always root for Penn Staters.
