A camera mounted to the grain cart of farmer Jay Myers can be monitored remotely
When it comes to keeping tabs on harvest progress, farmer Jay Myers of Colfax, N.D., has just about every angle covered. His grain dryer can be monitored remotely, which comes in handy for troubleshooting, and he's got an iPad mounted in his combine above the main monitor.
'It just works really slick because I can bounce between screens then and see how full the bins are getting and when we're drying into a bin,' Myers tells Farm Journal Radio's Pam Fretwell.
Infrared cameras that can be viewed using mobile devices are another key component at harvest, he says. They're mounted in multiple places across the combine and grain cart to monitor crop flow and safety.
