Are you still using a domestic broadband supply for business purposes?
Achieving the level of bandwidth that your broadband provider promises is frequently a challenge. I come across large numbers of smaller advisers who are using domestic-type wi-fi services in their business. No matter which provider you use, these services are notorious for failing to deliver the speeds they claim.
Having become hugely frustrated with my domestic internet service provider I recently made one of the best technology buys I have made in a long time, an Apple Time Capsule router and back-up device. Granted at £249, it wasn't cheap, but the performance is blistering. Unlike traditional routers, this device uses both the 2.4 and 5Ghz frequencies to get the strongest signal. This will also automatically back up as much as 2TB of data from my Apple devices any time they are in range.
Admittedly at home I use Apple devices but the before and after transformation has been stunning.
A standalone AirPort Extreme router without the back-up can be bought for £169 or a 3TB time capsule for £349.
