Connected World this week is publishing its holiday gift list of tech gadgets, including trackers for your pet, your posture and even your socks. Our picks:
Tagg Tracker: A pet collar that uses GPS and wireless technology to track a pet's location from a computer or mobile device. A pet owner may set up geographical boundaries via Tagg's online portal. If and when the pet strays beyond those boundaries, the system sends an alert via email or text message. The system can be bought as a bundle or with a monthly service fee.
LumoBack: A sensor attached to a thin belt vibrates when it detects slouching, prompting the wearer to straighten up. The $149.95 solution, which can also count steps and encourage more activity, only works with Apple devices.
Blacksocks' Smarter Socks: An iPhone app that helps sort socks and figure out which two go together. The $189 solution's magic is a tiny RFID (radio-frequency identification) chip that identifies each sock and a device that communicates that information to your iPhone. A starter kit includes 10 pairs of calf socks and the Sock Sorter device that enables the user to scan the RFID-embedded socks.
