The children Alan Henning was on his way to deliver aid to in Syria when he was kidnapped and killed by Islamic State militants have sent messages of support to his family.
Affectionately nicknamed 'Gadget' because of his love of technology, Mr Henning was a passionate volunteer who made several trips to the war-torn country after seeing pictures of the bloody conflict that has claimed nearly 200,000 lives.
His friend Kasim Jameel, who led the aid convoy to Syria on which the 47-year-old taxi driver was kidnapped on 27 December, 2013, said the photographs of the youngsters were taken Monday morning.
They show them holding up placards of support including 'R.I.P Uncle Gadget' and 'Henning family we feel your pain'.
Another says: 'We will never forget you ... because you never forgot us.'
The married father-of-two from Eccles, in Greater Manchester, was driving an ambulance loaded with food, water and medical aid for them at a hospital but never got to his destination.

Friends remember him convincing the group to sleep in their vehicles after one day's drive, rather than get a hotel, so they could put the money towards more aid.
A special church service celebrating his life was held in his home town on Sunday and attended by his widow Barbara.
He was abducted in the town of Ad Dana, north of Idlib, and reportedly separated from his Muslim counterparts by masked men.

Mr Jameel said the gratitude that the local kids showed is what kept drawing Mr Henning back to Syria.
Mr Henning is the second Briton to be beheaded by IS.
A video lasting one minute and 11 seconds and titled Another Message To America And Its Allies, was posted on YouTube on Friday.

It showed Mr Henning kneeling in front of a knife-wielding militant in a desert setting before being killed in front of the camera.
